Russia’s Arkhangelsk Reg Jan–Jun diamond output at 2.6 mln carats

ST. PETERSBURG, Aug 3 (PRIME) -- Companies of Russia’s Arkhangelsk Region produced more than 2.6 million carats of diamonds in January–June, the region’s Natural Resources and Forestry Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.

Arkhangelskgeoldobycha, a unit of oil major Lukoil, processed more than 2.2 million tonnes of ore and produced more than 1.7 million carats of diamonds in the period. Uncut diamond mining giant ALROSA’s unit Severalmaz processed almost 2 million tonnes of ore and produced more than 900,000 carats of diamonds in the period, the ministry said.
